Regulations
regarding allergen information
in the food service industry
Since 2006, manufacturers have had to indicate the possible presence of 14 ingredients considered major allergens on their products’ labeling.
Since December 13, 2014, this obligation has been extended to food service, in accordance with European regulations. Restaurant owners are now required to inform their customers of the possible presence of allergens in their dishes, using a periodically updated document.
